New Caney Urgent Care

Imaging CenterNew Caney, TX

Treating an injury or illness with at-home remedies may work for minor health issues, but it will not work for serious ones. By seeking professional medical care, you can receive a professional examination of your body to measure the extent of the health issues. In order to do so, we will need to take images of the internal systems in the body. An imaging center has physicians that can use medical technology to take digital images of one’s body.

Imaging center services are offered at Texas Urgent Care & Imaging Center in New Caney and surrounding areas. By offering urgent care with an imaging center in the office, our patients do not need to go to a separate facility to receive X-rays or CT scans as part of treatment. With diagnostic imaging, we can get a more precise and detailed view of the patient’s body to enhance the treatment.

If you need urgent care treatment or are unsure of what is causing you pain, visit us or call to learn more about how we can help.

Benefits of visiting an imaging center

While people may think of X-rays upon hearing about an imaging center, we offer several other techniques that help to provide more detailed views of the body. After sustaining an injury, people will immediately check for scratches, bruises or bleeding on the outside of their body. However, there can also be internal damage that is not visible.

Someone who is in an auto accident may find they gradually become sorer several days after the accident. While there is no immediate pain or external signs of an injury, there can be internal damage that we need to check for and treat. Benefits of visiting our urgent care and imaging center include:

  • Ability to receive professional treatment and imaging services in one location
  • A more precise and detailed view of a specific area of the body
  • Ability to take more detailed images at different angles
  • Being able to diagnose a disorder more quickly by taking the images at our clinic
  • Understand the scope of the internal injury or health issue
  • Assessing the images and developing a treatment plan for the patient’s needs
  • Ability to keep the images on record for future reference or need
  • Types of diagnostic imaging we offer

At Texas Urgent Care & Imaging Center, we offer three main forms of diagnostic imaging services including X-rays, CT scans . These allow us to help enhance our treatment of patients by gaining a more detailed view of their body, health and injury.

    X-rays

Taking X-rays is generally a quick and painless process that allows us to take still images of the structures in the body. X-ray beams cannot pass through bone or metal, which is why these show up on an X-ray image much more clearly than anything else in the body. With X-rays, we can examine the body for various conditions, such as:

  • Bone fractures
  • Signs of arthritis
  • Signs of certain types of cancer
  • Osteoporosis
  • Signs of pneumonia and tuberculosis
  • Digestive tract issue by using barium
  • CT Scans

Also known as a computerized tomography scan, CT scans take a variety of X-rays at different angles around the body. The computer processes the images to create a cross-selected set of images of the body. With CT scans, we can:

  • Gain a clear view of muscle and bone disorders before making a diagnosis
  • Continue to monitor diseases such as cancer, lung nodules, heart disease and liver masses
  • Locate the source of an infection, blood clot or tumor
  • Detect internal injuries
  • Identify source of internal bleeding
  • A CT scan is especially effective following a car accident for signs of internal injuries. With a CT scan, we can plan a customized treatment approach for the patient.

    Ultrasounds

A diagnostic ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves that produce images of the body. Also known as a sonography, this procedure involves placing a special gel on the area of the body before running a small tool over said area. The soundwaves are harmless, and this procedure will go fairly quickly. With an ultrasound, we can:

  • Get a visual of the uterus and ovaries to monitor a developing baby’
  • Examine any form of breast lump
  • Check thyroid glands, along with genital and prostate issues
  • Examine blood flow
  • Examine any signs of joint inflammation
