The Treatment process

Upon arriving at Texas Urgent Care & Imaging Center, our evaluate various factors of a patient’s health. Using these tests to measure various aspects of cognitive function, we can measure the extent of the concussion, the level of symptoms and what the patient will need to do to further recovery.
As stated above, a neurological exam will involve questions about the patient’s vision, hearing, balance, reflexes, coordination, strength and sensation. We will also test the patient’s memory, concentration and ability to recall information. While a concussion will not cause immediate and complete amnesia, it can cause minor amnesia about the injury-causing event or other things.

Patients can also take store-bought pain relievers, such as Tylenol, to help with headaches. If the patient experiences severe headaches, seizures or repeated vomiting, then we will recommend a CT scan to get images of the patient’s skull and brain. From there, we can customize the treatment as needed.
